Late Night with Seth Meyers - Season 1

Today, the upper brass at the Emmys announced what we can expect for the upcoming 66th edition of the awards show. Well, at least as to who will be gracing us with hosting duties this year. It’s the biggest night in TV, celebrating everything the small screen has to offer.

Every year, the three major networks take turns in hosting the awards show, with CBS hosting last year, their golden boy, Neil Patrick Harris had the honour of hosting the show. This year, it’s NBC’s turn once again, and the network will be going with the ‘SNL’ Alumni and current ‘Late Night’ host, Seth Meyers. Meyers has been on a roll as of late, as he was named one TIME magazine’s 100 most influential people. Plus, Seth’s buzz is even on par with Tonight Show host, Jimmy Fallon. To us, NBC made the right choice for host.

“Seth is such a talented performer and writer, and we know he will bring something unique to hosting the Primetime Emmy Awards,” said Bruce Rosenblum, head of the Television Academy, in a statement.

This won’t be Meyers’ first rodeo. The funny-man has previously hosted The Espys as well as the White House Correspondents Dinner.

The 66th Primetime Emmys air August 25th on NBC.
