It was announced today that the funny duo of Tina Fey and Amy Poehler aren’t going anywhere as hosts of the Golden Globes. The pair have signed on to host the awards show for two consecutive years in a row; 2014/2015. In total, it will be three years in a row for the comedians hosting, as they hosted the show in 2013 to positive critical acclaim.
Sure there have been hosts, which have the gig two years in a row, but that deal is not solidified for two years right off the bat. Usually, a host will be named and then if feedback is positive he/she may be announced as host for the upcoming year, closer to awards show date.
Allen Shapiro, CEO of Dick Clark Productions, said the former “Saturday Night Live” chums have “a truly unique chemistry making them one of the most talented and captivating pairings of all time.”
Fey and Poehler were a huge hit last year. The Golden Globes had their best ratings in six years and viewership was up by 17 percent from 2012.
We say, bring on the funny duo! Sarcasm, drinks, food and self-absorbed actors all under one roof? Now that’s a recipe for some amazing one liners!
