‘TRUE BLOOD’ TO END AFTER SEASON 7

True Blood

It has been confirmed today that HBO’s hit show ‘True Blood’ has been picked up for a seventh season. However, the seventh season which is set to air in the summer of 2014, will also be the shows last.

Although we are huge fans of True Blood’, a place where nothing seems too ridiculous or over the top, the last season, seemed just that. Don’t get us wrong, we loved seeing Sarah Newlin’s crazy rampages, but Bill taking a God-like form, vampires walking in the sun, and now infected vampires? Let’s pull the reigns back a little on this one, shall we? ‘True Blood’ had such a successful and big following early on in its first couple of seasons because it was about vampires co-existing with humans. It’s always been that way, even in the most recent seasons, but we feel ‘True Blood’ was at it’s best during the first three seasons when it seemed like the analogy of less is more was in play.

To us, the news has come with mixed emotions. At first, you don’t want the series to end, but at the same time, it’s better to end, with the writers, producers, directors, cast etc aware and being able to write and give closure to characters and fans alike.
