30 Rock

You know that popular saying “All Good Things Must Come to an End”? This is exactly how we feel about NBC’s hit comedy 30 Rockas NBC will air the series finale tonight at 8/7 C.

SNL Alumni Tina Fey created the show and it debuted on the peacock network in 2006. The show is loosely based on Fey’s experience as head writer on  Saturday Night Live and takes place behind the scenes of a fictional live sketch comedy show. The brilliant, sometimes rude/obscene (but always hilarious) Alec Baldwin plays Fey’s boss.

The show aired on NBC Thursday nights and was able to garner strong ratings (at times) for the network, re-branding NBC’s comedy line up. The ratings woes was even a topic Fey would make light of. The show has been a critical success, winning Emmys for Outstanding Comedy Series in 2007, 2008, and 2009. In 2009, the show was nominated for 22 Primetime Emmy Awards, which is the most in a single year for any comedy series.

Fans of the show, there’s no need to fret, as in 2011, the show entered into local broadcast syndication. Yes, all good things must come to an end, as there will be no more new, fresh shows of 30 Rock. However, the show will be around for years to come, still making us laugh as only Tina Fey can.
