NBC has announced today that Michael J. Fox will return to TV in the fall of 2013 with his own show for the peacock network. Fox will play a version of himself, a man living with Parkinson’s, who has a loving wife and three kids. Fox earned an Emmy nomination earlier this year for his role on “Curb Your Enthusiasm”

“To bring Michael J. Fox back to NBC is a supreme honor,” said Robert Greenblatt, chairman of NBC Entertainment, “and we are thrilled that one of the great comedic television stars is coming home again.”

He called Fox “utterly relatable, optimistic and in a class by himself.”

“I’m extremely pleased to be back at NBC with a great creative team and a great show,” Fox said.

In May, Fox told ABC that he is on a new drug regime which is helping him control his tics that are a result of the disease and could allow him to take on more exciting roles, which he may not have thought about previously.
The new show is set to air in the fall of 2013 on NBC.
